About me
I run a private, independant psychotherapy practice…
In practical terms, what this means is that if someone comes to see me then it remains a private, confidential matter between me and my client. I am a registered member of the U.K.C.P. and I abide by professional codes of conduct and ethics. I adhere to the statutory requirements around confidentiality. In my practice, I offer Individual and Group Psychotherapy.
Psychotherapy is not a quick fix…
Psychotherapy is a conversation that will explore the story you bring into the sessions. It can be hard work and takes some courage to talk about personal difficulties, painful histories and face painful feelings that may have been repressed for some time. It requires an emotional investment in this joint venture.
Our work together… Being able to work together is a very important part of psychotherapy, thats why the 1st Session is a very important part of our work. We will use it to decide if we can form a working relationship that will allow therapy to proceed. I do not charge for the 1st session.
We can also think together about what it is that has brought you to psychotherapy at this moment in time. This relationship requires clients to make an emotional and financial commitment to therapy.
The cost of therapy…
I operate a sliding scale fee schedule based on ability to pay. We can negotiate a fee depending on your ability to pay.
I am a member of the Institute of Group Analysis (Mem. Inst. G.A.). I am also a registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (U.K.C.P.).
